It’s been spring here officially for about 2 weeks. You wouldn’t know it until the past few days. It took a trip to Toronto last week to actually give me a sense that winter was on the decline. They had no real snow there, unlike us, with our 2 meter snow banks on each side of the driveway. Complain, complain… I was writing the spring newsletter and realized last winter was actually almost as long. How do we forget such things from year to year?
Yesterday, the CLEE Ottawa committee met for the final planning session of our Spring Conference to be held on May 9-11. Have a look at the newsletter for details and registration information. We sat in Glen and Lynn’s kitchen, munching on snacks, glass of wine in hand, when it occurred to us that it was actually warm enough to open the back door and let some fresh air in. Amazing!!
Some great conversations were happening. Roland announced he was moving to the Netherlands to teach at AFNORTH (I am soooooo envious as I wanted to work there too) and Siobahn told us she’s been busy selling her house as she is moving to Brazil in the summer to start a 2 year teaching contract there. How do you say “Oh Wow!” in Portuguese? And Bill and Jeannette told us all about their Roadtrek trip this past winter and their upcoming trip to Australia. We are hoping they want to join us next summer for our Australia 2015 camper caravan.
Yes, it seems all kinds of plans have been laying dormant this winter, just ready to explode like the tulip bulbs in Ottawa. So next year, when I get really down on winter, remind me to check this post, right?
