Wow, have we been busy!  I am finally living with Leon in BC.  We are busy with house renos, my education, planning our trip to Germany and Denmark in September and the ultimate trip – the teaching exchange down under.  It never stops!

Leon decided to throw a little more into the mix by having his eyes lazered today.  A whole new Leon will emerge, sans glasses.  He is excited to finally wear sunglasses he likes, stop losing his glasses each time he puts them down as he goes to sleep and stop fogging up in the hot tub.  I am hoping he will actually lay in bed and rest for 3-5 days, without looking at the computer.  Time away from work is a good thing.

In the meantime, I am on my last 2 weeks of this course.  Lord, it’s been a long one.  I was warned there would be lots of work.  Why didn’t I take the intro courses before I embarked on the advanced stuff?  How silly of me!  At any rate, only 2 courses to go for the full certificate.  I doubt I will continue this program.  At least not until I return from Australia.

Those plans are coming together.  Lots of papers to read, sign and applications to submit.  We are only just beginning the process.  But we started with the fun stuff first.  We are planning the vacation before we work.  So far we are stopping for 5 days in Fiji, including a 3 days stay on another more private island, then it’s off to NZ for 12 days of driving, touring, wining and dining.  The scenery promises to be lovely.  And finally a flight to Melbourne for the last leg of the journey to Bendigo, AU!

My exchange partner, Donna, and I have been exchanging a lot of correspondence in an effort to get to know each other and our respective environments.  There is much trepidation and some nights when I can’t sleep, I wonder what the heck I was thinking – as if we didn’t have enough going on that we need to move to the other side of the world.  But hey, it will happen, one day at a time.

Hopefully I will be able to detail this exciting adventure here and my friends and family will continue to read our adventures.

More later…

In the meantime, here’s a pic of Leon trying out the look without glasses on his face.  Very handsome!

Love the title of the book he is reading:

“So we sold our house and moved to the South Pacific.” So appropriate!
