Thank you so much for your kind words and linking to my blog. Understanding why we do the things we do is just one small step on the journey to communicating on a deeper level and coping with life’s dramas.

As with many other posts, I find your reflections spot on. I am thinking of many of my former colleagues who are weathering this storm as best they can. Hopefully this is a message of reassurance.

Thank you ever so much. It is so lovely to hear that my humble words are appreciated. I am saddened to hear that so many folks that are close to you are struggling. If we can ease their struggle at least a tiny bit, it will be worthwhile. What area did you work in, Catherine?

I was a teacher. It’s a brutal environment to be working in during a pandemic. People cannot teach using their usual methods. Imagine what a kindergarten class is like with no contact allowed. Imagine teaching a second language with your mouth covered. So many teachers are struggling.

That would have been incredibly difficult. I can only imagine the strain it put on the teachers to achieve goals and assist children’s development. If this pandemic continues, do you think there will be far reaching effects on those students in particular?

I have to admit I am more concerned for the teachers than their students. Children are resilient.

Children can be remarkably adaptable and thank goodness they are. You mentioned the teachers struggling and I do not envy them at all. In fact, as I was driving this morning I heard a teacher crying on the radio when she won a holiday away. She said it had been such a difficult year for her and to get away from it all would be a blessing.

How lucky she can get away. As you might know, our Covid numbers are rising. No trips will be possible for quite a long while, unfortunately.

For once, it is a bonus that Australia is at the bottom of the world far away from almost every other country.
