Last night we were sitting around at the computer while Leon did the extended version of the census (lucky guy!). I received an email from Webjet saying all flights on Tiger Airways were cancelled until July 9. We had planned to leave the house at 2am (6 hours later) to drive to Melbourne to catch our 6:15am flight. Ooops!!!
So I quickly got on the phone and various websites to try to find a replacement flight. In the meantime, Leon explored driving, busing or taking the train to Brisbane. None of the options made sense. Finally, after about 30 minutes wait on the phone, Qantas told us we could catch a Monday morning flight for a slight extra charge. So I scooped it up. In the meantime, we’ve had to call and delay our pick up of the campervan (no discount for missing a day), change our campground and long term parking arrangement and call friends in Brissy to change our plans with them. Lord!!! Thank you Tiger Air! I still have no idea if our return flights will be honored and we’ll have to wait till after July 9th to find out. In the meantime, we are snug in Bendigo, enjoying one last day of quiet winter weather, trying to figure out what to eat as I’ve emptied and cleaned the fridge and cupboards. I guess we will have to go out for a meal…
Thanks Emma. I imagine it will all turn out for the best. At least we have a window of 4 days to get home again. Let’s see what getting a flight home will be like. Maybe we’ll just have to keep heading north. I am so cold here. Spent the day all snug, playing Spider Solitaire on the computer. That’s how fried my brain is from doing report cards. lol 🙂
