As I uploaded my pictures and thoughts to my blog this week, I couldn’t help but realize just what a great holiday it was.  Such lovely views, great food, nice people, good family moments and the bonus of seeing other people in their happiest times.  For instance, as we sat in the hot tub one evening at sunset, we looked down on the private beach dinner set up below.  The sign said:  Welcome Stacey and Devin.  We knew there would be a romantic event, and a few of the hotel guests were wondering if a proposal wasn’t in the making.  So I made sure to keep my eye out for a young man on bended knee and an emotional young woman.  And of course, as the sun was setting, the lady in question got a bit cold, so the gentleman removed his jacket to put in on her shoulders.  It wasn’t long after that when he proposed, kneeling in the sand beside her chair.  I knew it!!  I yelled out woohoo! from the balcony not realizing they would hear me.  Oh well!  Hopefully they felt like movie stars or reality tv stars, anyway.

Towards the end of the week, we had a lovely family dinner in our own private dining room in our suite.  It was easier for us to get our dinner from the buffet and bring it up to share, leaving Griffin some freedom to wander around the suite, rather than be restricted to the high chair while we all ate.  We had a cocktail, the guys went down to get our first course and then we all went down for the main and desserts.  Cheryl and I filled plates with an assortment of pastries for all to share.

Before everyone arrived, we noticed the hotel next door had a wedding reception.  We managed to snap some pictures of the bridal party as they were posing for their official photos.  There were fireworks being set up for later in the evening.  After we finished dinner, we looked down from the terrace to see the Tiki Party with flame dancers.  And then we were treated to a great display of fireworks.  How cool is that?
