After the “Emotional Coast”, I was happy to turn back towards the Indian Ocean on our way to Fremantle and Perth. Our destination was Bunbury, a lovely town south of the bigger port of Fremantle. Bunbury was a military port for a short time in the past, then had a period as a transport area for logging. It is now known for its friendly wild dolphins which can be sighted from the beach. On that day, we were not fortunate enough to make any dolphin sightings, much to the disbelief of my friend from Perth.

We walked up to the Marlston Hill Lookout Tower situated on the emplacement of the original lighthouse and had a great view of the town with some large homes located nearby. It was a cloudy, cool day, so we moved on to get to our destination of Fremantle.
